Papyrus-Recycled Greetings, Inc. (an American Greetings company) is recruiting for a Manager of Creative & Retail Experience to join the marketing team at our office in downtown Chicago.

The Manager of Creative & Retail Experience is responsible for partnering with the Director of Marketing to oversee the presentation of the Papyrus and Recycled Paper Greetings (RPG) brands and products. This position manages the visual experience of the brands to consumers, the trade industry and through experiences in Retail locations. This role is highly collaborative and encompasses project management, business functions and design. The position covers all facets of Papyrus and RPG comprehensive creative vision including consumer facing designs, catalog production, photography, signage design, trade creative and temporary displays, presentations. This role does not have responsibilities for card or saleable product designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL Responsible for developing the creative vision and creative business strategy for Papyrus and RPG Responsible for developing a cohesive brand image, look and feel for Papyrus and RPG as well as the business operations of PRG Oversees the team responsible for all visuals and creative outputs for the Papyrus and Recycled Paper Greetings brands. Includes displays, fixtures, packaging, signage and new concept solutions, consumer, trade and internal facing creative. Makes recommendations for better business practices - including improvements on catalog production, signage production and all areas where strategic workflow efficiencies can be made Governs capacity for programs and manages schedules and delivery dates for the creative team. Make recommendations for social/Instagram creative and videography needs for sizzle reels Pitches creative concepts in tandem with merchant partners to buyers. Provides written briefs to identify key messages that need conveyed. Works with (BI) consumer research and utilizes data needed to ensure delivery of a comprehensive retail vision against retail strategies to meet consumer needs and market trends. Keeps up to date with industry, consumer and style trends with frequent retail visits. (Includes general consumer goods and their displays and competitive accounts) Responsible for managing budget for signage, fixture and temporary displays. Leads strategic direction for all retail design presentations. Directly pitches creative solutions to executive management. RETAIL EXPERIENCE - SIGNAGE/PROJECT MANAGEMENT Project manager for all signage programs - collaborates internally and with AG counterparts to push signage programs through to retail Collaborates with Signage designer to develop fresh, exciting and polished concepts to pitch to executive team Collaborates directly with Global Sourcing to complete total shipped retail signage package. (includes but not limited to - printing processes, substrates, materials and quality control of materials) Collaborates directly with Merchants to ensure retailer's needs are met and corporate brand strategies are carried-out in every facet of the retail environment. Develops seasonal and holiday retail statements with Signage Graphic Designer. Collaborates directly with Product Development to ensure products are displayed and featured properly. Thorough understanding of American Greetings brands and strategies and able to execute flawlessly at retail. Works with Rendering Artist to provide comprehensive visual depictions (renderings and animations) of retail vision. DIRECT REPORTS TO THIS POSITION: The position has 4 direct reports and associate levels.

Required Length Type of Experience: 5 to 8 years relevant creative retail experience work with a proven track record of success. Experience managing a highly creative group. Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Thorough and comprehensive understanding of luxury and mass market creative. Seasoned mentor with ability to create a strong team and culture. Deep knowledge of social expressions products (cards, gifting). Has entrepreneurial qualities and is comfortable working and navigating through ambiguity Can ideate and execute creative solutions for the presentation of Papyrus RPG products. Knowledge of fixtures and fixture accessories. Knowledge of signage and packaging. Technical knowledge in all forms of printing. Knowledge of diverse retail accounts. Capable of working with internal and external clients. Polished presenter. Understands basic financial terms/practices with an ability to manage a budget. Ability to manage diverse group of associates and job functions. Knowledge of Microsoft applications, Photoshop and Illustrator. 3D programs a plus. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
