What does this position do?
The Art Admin is in charge of helping to run our crowdsourcing and design platform. Working with a small team, they work two days a week to manage thousands of art submissions, helping to choose and critique each piece. They interact with the artists to keep them informed, and make suggestions on how prospective artworks could be improved. They prepare submitted artwork, editing and tweaking the art, entering data into the system, and monitoring for issues. And they help to prepare the final selected art pieces for prototype, editing or redrawing the art as needed, creating documentation and helping with the selection of materials and colors.
To do this role you will need to:
Use your skills as an accomplished artist with a good eye for detail and a cute, quirky style of illustration, and be comfortable thinking through and presenting art critiques.
Be an excellent writer, communicator, and proofreader.
Be fanatically organized and detail-oriented.
Draw detailed line art digitally, using a tablet.
Use basic office tools, including Excel
Use basic HTML Skills
- Hit multiple deadlines in a careful and timely manner.
Tell me about the qualifications!
You have a degree in illustration, fine art, comics, graphics, or some other educational background which shows mastery over visual communication. You are master of a deft art critique, quickly summing up the good and bad points and presenting them in a friendly way. You have strong digital drawing skills, especially in linework, and your style tends towards the fun and whimsical. You're a fantastic writer and communicator; grammar sticklers are welcome here. You know how to use basic office software, and you have basic HTML experience.

Basic office technology skills, including Excel
Basic HTML and web skills, including working with a CMS such as WordPress
