The Senior Designer is the organization's lead designer and responsible for conceptualization and implementation of creative solutions that meet business strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interact with Creative Director to develop creative concepts and executions of assigned projects.
Lead designer on projects. Concept, design and produce a range of print, digital and promotional projects including invitations, posters, advertisements, apparel, corporate identity pieces, digital landing page design, email blasts and web graphics.
Art direct intermediate, junior and production designers in the creation of preliminary concepts, comps, layouts and final art. Provide detailed direction to designers; assist in the education and development of designers.
Assist in pitches and presentations to key stakeholders.
Ensure successful representation of the Academy identity across all media.
Qualifications and Requirements
A mastery of composition and layout techniques; demonstrated complete understanding of:
Color theory and color relationships.
Typographic terms that identify type forms and the specifications required to refer to typographic settings (i.e., points, leading, picas, kerning, tracking, cap-height, x-height etc.).
Perspective and space relationships.
Page composition and grid structures.
Experience designing and coding email marketing using HTML and CSS; fluency in current web design/development best practices and web design technology
Print production process and knowledge of production techniques.
Demonstrated ability to:
Communicate thorough knowledge of assignments.
Provide effective direction at photo shoots.
Effectively check and approve work on press.
Effectively handle multiple assignments at one time.
Manage challenging situations both internally and with key stakeholders.
Command respect of freelance designers and be able to effectively oversee their work.
Advanced degree in design or related field with a minimum of 2-3 years professional design experience. Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver.
