The Sr. Product Designer, Soft Goods role will be based in BandLab Technologies HQ in Singapore, and will specifically be focused on helping to drive current and future soft goods product lines - including work with the IDSA award winning MONO brand. MONO is well known for it's industry leading and innovative product design andhigh-end instrument cases, straps and accessories for musicians on the move. Based out of our Singapore HQ, you'll work in a multi-national team environment on MONO products as well as exploring other soft-good applications for our users all around the world.We're looking for someone who will be keen to be a part of building something groundbreaking for musicians and fans alike.
FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLS + Take new products from initial sketch to mass production, with a self-motivating and organized approach. You have the ability to handle several projects simultaneously with strong visual communication techniques, soft-goods materials and processes knowledge, and elegant expressions of form and function.
+ Build on BandLab Technologies' and MONO's design language and extrapolate across new products, materials and categories. Establish and articulate elements of brand continuity. At the same time you are driven to push for the next evolutionary steps of brand aesthetics with a consumer-centric design process.
+ Work closely with the product team and top management, you'll refine existing products on an ongoing basis to improve functionality, tailor fit, reduce defects, streamline manufacturing, update packaging, and keep design details fresh.
+ Be savvy when it comes to working closely with factories, technicians and vendors to research, experiment products and processes. Further you can handle and maintain timing, deadlines as well as cost targets.
+ Develop an intimate familiarity with the existing MONO product line to drive running changes, design updates, performance improvements and line expansion. Work closely with the support team and product manager to evaluate ongoing design needs and implement changes as needed.
+ Develop domain expertise in Musical Instruments products and marketplace in general, and the Accessories category in particular.
+ Strong knowledge of materials, prototyping and manufacturing processes.
+ Specific knowledge in soft goods, footwear and cut-and-sew design a plus.
+ Demonstrated ability to apply brand philosophy to product design.
+ Passion for Music required. Experience playing a musical instrument a major plus.
