Job Summary:

As a Visual Coordinator you are part of the overall Hotel Interior Design team. You will support and aid the Director of Visualization in overseeing and facilitating 3D/2D Visual aspect of hotel interior design presentations and development. To produce the best possible visual communications so the I.D. teams can concentrate on the interior concepts. Your responsibilities will include 3D modeling of Concept hotel interiors, aiding in the Preparation of Presentations where needed, Producing 2D renderings of Interior elevations/plans, Compiling Render Packs/redline comments for our rendering teams as well as helping to maintain project visual files and image libraries.

Education:

  • Associates of Arts in a Design or other relevant Creative field, minimum
  • Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or other relevant Creative field, preferred
  • All Degrees must come from an Accredited Design program or equivalent accredited program

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant education and applicable professional experience
  • Understanding of basic Interior design theory and principals
  • One year relevant creative internship experience, minimum

Required Skills:

  • A good eye for composition and attention to detail, (a must)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Acrobat, PowerPoint, Excel and Sketch Up, (minimum)
  • Reasonable hand sketching skills,
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of 3D Studio Max (preferred but not essential)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD (preferred but not essential)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of REVIT (preferred but not essential)
  • Presentation Drawing and Design Board Fabrication, (a bonus)
  • Good understanding of Color and Materials
  • Demonstrate collaborative & professional work ethic

Duties and Responsibilities:

Embrace the design DMU culture, uphold initiatives and apply creativity towards all internal and external projects

Design

  • Work under the general direction of Director of Visualization (VoD) and Design Directors
  • Assist in the development of concept ideas through modeling and rendering
  • Work Closely with your assigned Project Team to produce best communication of the design
  • Execute shipment of documents and general correspondence to contractors and team members

Technical

  • Produce SketchUp documents for testing design ideas throughout the life of each project
  • Assist with Editing AutoCAD/REVIT files where needed
  • Assist with Graphic Presentations and digital generated design presentations where needed
  • Perform tasks according to designDMU Standards and Project Delivery Methods

Management

  • Maintain accurate time records of all project related assignments
  • Provide administrative support to Director of Visualization as required
  • Provide administrative support for other departments, as required
  • Clearly communicate in written and verbal form with team members
  • Assist in maintaining renderer file library records and distribution to team members
