DIMITRI STEFANOV

Dimitri Stefanov, freelance photojournalism photographer.

Born in Pleven, Bulgaria, 1987. Aged 13 he moved to Madrid, Spain. At 19 he started an entry-level course on photography in EFTI School, and one year later, in 2009, he took a Reportage and Documentary Photography course at the same school, where he earns a Grant as the Most Promising Student of the year. Thanks to this, his work “Not About Football” is exhibited.

Also in 2009 he earns a Grant in Albarracin Photojournalism Seminar, organised by photographer Gervasio Sánchez.

In 2010 he is invited to show his work about home country in the International Festival of Photography in Plodiv, Bulgaria.

2011 Runner-up as Young Bulgarian Photogarpher of the Year, BG Press Photo.

2011 Selected for the Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam.

2011 POYi Emerging Vision Incentive, one of the 20 finalist proyects.

He has published his work in Bulgarian magazines such as ONE, NEQ, BG PRESS PHOTO, MAX., CAPITAL, etc…

His work “Not About Football” appears in Burn Magazine, USA.
