Usability Specialist / UI Designer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the process for gathering usability insights and incorporating them into our product
• Develop and regularly conduct usability sessions
• Manage various types of usability processes (e.g. A/B testing, competitive testing)
• Measure and track progress of the product's usability
• Propose designs based on findings and create user-interface mockups
• Collaborate with marketing team on researching user needs and workflows
• Collaborate with product and design team on developing and designing product features
• Collaborate with engineering team on implementing designs and usability testing mechanisms
• Stay on top of recent trends in usability and educate others in the company
• Help build a company culture that is in touch with our users

Requirements:

• 4+ years of usability experience for web applications
• Experience with various usability strategies and techniques
• Passion for understanding and representing the user
• Excellent eye for simple, beautiful, user-friendly designs
• Excellent "common sense"
• High sense of integrity and awareness of how product decisions can impact individual lives
• Ability to design multiple innovative solutions to complex problems
• Ability to understand quantitative issues and technical restraints in the design process
• Excellent communication skills-ability to draw out critical information from users in conversation and deduce key lessons for the product
• Excellent mockup skills-ability to quickly create visual UI mockups
• Excellent writing skills-ability to take the essence of a message and communicate it in few words
• Excellent teamwork skills-ability to work collaboratively with various functions (e.g. engineering, marketing, business development)
• Entrepreneurial self-starter, problem-solver, and multi-tasker
• Passion to help empower individuals with their healthcare
