London, UK

I'm a 23 year old geek currently working for Design UK in London. I wrote my first website aged 12. I am enthusiastic about technology, tea and life in general.

I develop both the back and front-end of websites and I am comfortable in writing and understanding several programming languages. I'm into the semantic web, interaction and white space. I am obsessive about code quality and performance.

My skills include:

• XML, HTML and CSS
• Object-Orientated PHP and MySQL
• Wide knowledge of Open Source software
• Javascript and jQuery; including ability to write extendible plug-ins
• Flash and Actionscript
• Accessibility guidelines (WCAG, WAI), strict web standards
• SVN and GIT, basic server and local network management
• Firebug, Google Page Speed, Xdebug and Webgrind
• Photoshop and image manipulation

I’ve worked on projects for Boots, the Labour Party, Deutsche Bank, Meile, Dunhill and Tangent partners. I work with in-house, proprietary systems as well as developing my own software for design versioning and client approval. I have built HTML emails for high profile campaigns. I am also responsible for small Flash based projects and help with accessibility advice.

  • Developer (contract)

I was encouraged to experiment with new techniques and given time to work on my own small projects. I helped development of a property sales CMS, built websites on the Wordpress platform and installed Google Apps. I also learnt a lot about running a small network and business practices.

  • Freelance Developer

    May 2004 - Oct 2009
    Forum Web Design

I developed custom web applications often based on my own PHP/MySQL content management system (ForumCMS) first developed in 2004 and re-developed in 2007. Most projects were started via word-of-mouth but I also had success in local search and referrals.

  • Part-time Designer and Developer
    Kent
    Aug 2007 - Jun 2009
    Student Design

I primarily installed and developed web applications for a wide range of clients. I worked with other designers though projects were often full-cycle from design and mockup to end-user testing. On several occasions this resulted in more freelance work directly from the client. Large output meant for a very fast-track learning process.
