Matt Hinchliffe
London, UK
I'm a 22 year old web developer and designer. I have a passion for computer interaction, technology and the internet. I am enthusiastic about many aspects of web design, tea and life in general.
I enjoy developing online applications and interfaces. I built my first website aged 12 and have delivered websites to clients for 5 years using a wide range of disciplines and software. I am also literate in managing small OSX-based networks and tools for local website development.
I try to code very efficiently and produce well thought out structures. This also transfers to my design work as I believe a website should never confuse or frustrate the end-user.
My skills include:
- XHTML and CSS
- PHP and MySQL
- Content management systems including Wordpress and Perch
- Javascript including jQuery
- Flash animation and Actionscript
- Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines
- Search engine optimisation
- Basic web and local server management (XAMPP, MAMP, OSX Leopard Server, Dynamic DNS)
Recent Work
-
- Petro Kamchatka
This corporate project was delivered within a very short time scale for Blueprint TV who provided the design and video. I built a very lightweight PHP framework to load pages that are easily customisable and developed optimised CSS and Javascript including a custom caching script. The site includes Flash video and several interactive areas. Content is powered by Perch CMS.
-
- Max Bentheim
I took over development of this Flash project after the client raised concerns about the loading speed and maintenance of the website. I produced a lightweight, fully XML driven site using the Tweener library for fast development and to avoid heavy timelines. I built several interchangeable symbols for pages, slideshows and galleries that are re-used throughout the site.
-
- Personal Website
My blog and personal home page. Built on Pixie with custom front-end development. Showcased by CSS Yorkshire and CSS Leak.
