Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications-Digital Creative Strategist

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications-Digital Creative Strategist.

In this role, the successful candidate NYU Langone Health seeks an experienced, engagement-minded Digital Creative Strategist to join our Marketing Communications Team. Your focus will be on building and maintaining a cohesive digital vision across all branding touch points. With your experience as an organization's digital evangelist and a team leader, combined with a vibrant suite of design skills, you will guide and create projects aimed at best-in-class creative digital communication experiences that engage, excite and attract a range of audiences.

Job Responsibilities:

You will reside within the Creative Team but you will partner with multiple teams within the department to:

  • Identify, conceptualize and promote new opportunities and best practices within the digital design space
  • Drive solutions for communication challenges utilizing the talents and resources of the in-house studio and substantially contributing to the overall creative output
  • Supervise three members of the Creative Team including Motion Designer, Photo Editorand Operations Lead
  • Design static and motion content for digital advertising, social media, and digital marketing and email campaigns.
  • Drive e-mail creative strategy aimed at delivering impactful, emotional and visual context, working withSalesforce Marketing Cloud team and partner agencies to establish email design best practices and ensure Marketing Cloud assets optimally express our brand.
  • Maintain and refine design style guides for NYU Langone digital properties, including advertising, social media in collaboration with the creative team, UX team, and agency partners
  • Ensure consistency and style guide compliance across existing sites, apps, emails, and digital features; make visual-design judgments across products and projects.
  • Manage cohesive digital design vision in a way that promotes nimble design iteration and fuels agile development.
  • Work closely with department leadership to review design work from agencies for consistency and design best practices.
  • Serve as visual design advisor for theUX design team, product teams and marketing/advertising agencies; work closely with digital designers to ensure that the style guide principles are upheld.
  • Work with analytics team, digital communications, marketing, and product teams to identify problems in existing design and flows to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Ensure that visual assets,including photography and video, are presented optimally on websites and other digital channels
  • Support the development of internal learning opportunities to help enhance and strengthen our digital culture

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a The ideal candidate has a varied background and experience in the digital creative space and is able to easily transit between the roles of strategist, creative and project manager.

A 4-year college/university degree, creative or design focus is a plus.

7-10 years of experience in developing digital/social consumer experiences.

A portfolio of work demonstrating broad understanding of digital creative

A great eye for new trends and a drive for executing with speed.

Experience in brand building and a passion to innovate.

Experience in managing and mentoring others, including performance appraisal

Must have a grasp of HTML and CSS (not a programmer, but understands the concepts), design for email platforms, design for legibility and screen resolution, and design for accessibility.

Must be a strong collaborator who can work seamlessly with a variety of teams to form strategies and execute work.

Advanced user of Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite and Analytics tools
