Reporting to the Director of Marketing in the office of Columbia College Alumni Relations and Communications, the Associate Director of Marketing develops and executes marketing strategy across all channels, through high impact communications, data-informed testing and segmentation and innovative user experiences. The individual will work collaboratively within and outside of the Marketing team, with the ultimate objective of supporting greater alumni engagement and connectivity with the alumni community and with Columbia College and Columbia University. Key partners include the Alumni Relations, Events & Programs, Fundraising teams and several more across campus. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. Create and deploy marketing collateral across channels, including visual design, copy and other, including invitations, volunteer recruitment, newsletters and more, to generate strong response and support brand awareness. a. Design marketing assets in line with program objectives and needs, managing to the brand guidelines and marketing goals of client partners. Includes print, emails and web assets. b. Manage project timelines, budget, approval process and final execution, with input and buy-in from appropriate partners. c. Assess and enhance assets ongoing to improve overall performance, through testing, alumni feedback and other. B. Work closely with Director and team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that will advance and elevate marketing impact and effectiveness, and that increase relevancy and efficiency. This includes segmentation, personalization, trigger messaging, dynamic visual design, use of varied content and more. a. Contribute to segmentation and targeting work to better personalize communications, leveraging Salesforce tools and capabilities to build seamless customer journeys. b. Innovate visual design through use of gifs, video, digital printing and other to present the brand and the varied objectives in fresh, exciting ways. c. Source, customize and create content that can be used in assets across channels to keeps the Columbia College Alumni Association brand relevant, valuable and inspiring for end users we seek to engage. Content will include video, photography, graphic design, copy and more. C. Analyze and leverage metrics and insights in order to contribute to ongoing strategy and decision-making on marketing team, with objectives of reducing overall volume and enhancing the user experience. a. Review metrics ongoing, synthesizing key insights and recommendations for future initiatives. b. Partner closely with other units to exchange data to constantly better inform refinement of messaging and customer journey.

Bachelor's degree or its equivalent required. A minimum of three to five years professional experience in a marketing or communications role with demonstrated experience and expertise in copy writing, editing, development and implementation of email, social media, web and graphic design experience.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver is preferred. Strong passion for social media is required. Familiarity with Columbia College and University, as an alumnus or through other relationship, is a significant plus.
