Front End Visual Developer

Ephemeral TattooinNew York

Ephemeral is creating a world of limitless self-expression, where every body is a canvas. This is all possible due to our proprietary made-to-fade tattoo (developed over 6 years by Chemical Engineers), our owned and operated studios and our investment in building a beloved brand. A core part of our vision and strategy includes reimagining the digital experience of the tattoo journey. The current pre-appointment tattoo experience (from researching your tattoo to booking an appointment) is extremely fragmented. Interestingly, it is almost 100% digitally native. This is where you come in.

As a Senior Frontend Developer you will partner closely with our lead engineer to support ongoing enhancements, new modules, new animations, to our customer facing website and custom appointment booking flow. Our ideal candidate is autonomous and has a strong eye for UX, a love for interaction design, and the desire to understand the content you are building for. You must be a strong communicator who can work autonomously next to our other senior engineers.

  • Design new modules for our website
  • Partner closely with the head of engineering to design out interactive experiences, including infographics and other animations.
  • Provide enhancements and performance suggestions.
  • Identify opportunities where interaction (animations, loading states, etc) can improve the UX of the site.

  • JavaScript Experience
  • CMS builds
  • CSS (SASS scripting, CSS/SVG animations)
  • Accessible Semantic HTML
  • UI/UX experience
  • Ecomm experience (nice to have)
  • Ruby on Rails (nice to have)

  • This is a part-time 6 months duration position and could be extended if the developer performs well and meets the client's expectations.
  • This role will report into our head of engineering.
