The Senior UX Researcher is responsible for planning and executing user-centered research to uncover new opportunities and suggest solutions that will shape digital experiences in the aviation industry. While the primary focus of this role is research, the ideal candidate will offer a blended background as both a researcher and a designer, bringing a practical understanding of the factors that designers must consider in applying research findings to create effective UX. The position demands experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative user-centered research methods. The Senior UX Researcher will use these research findings to collaborate with the design teams, translating insights into digital concepts and then following projects all the way through production.

Why We Need This Position

For decades, the aviation industry has been driven by airplane (hardware) development, engineering and exceptional performance. As this industry has matured, there is a shift toward user experience and digital products and services that drive performance and deep customer (airline) engagement. We are continuing to evolve our offering to support all aspects of user experience across physical and digital. With new digital opportunities emerging every day, we are expanding our range of services across research, design and implementation. As the Senior UX Researcher, you act as the voice of the user during the inception and design of new products, ensuring that they are not only innovative in their own right, but also present clear and compelling solutions to client needs.

Who We're Looking For

You are a seasoned researcher who understands that the best design solutions come from a thorough understanding of user needs. In this role, you would be responsible for defining and implementing user-centric research that identifies the needs, attitudes and behaviors to inform new experience design solutions - especially focused on digital. You believe passionately in the value of research and would gladly serve as an ambassador for the importance of research when it comes to creating products that meet-or even anticipate-client needs. You are nimble and flexible, equally happy to provide research across a range of work including physical, digital or service-related solutions. You are also adept at synthesizing data, applying both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to it, and then capable at communicating it effectively to others. Throughout the process-from the research, strategy and concept creation phases through design development and implementation-you are committed to making sure that the user's perspective is always in the forefront of people's minds. You are a gifted diplomat and know that collaboration is the secret to success-you thrive when working with diverse teams, clients, and different levels of management to bring about truly exciting solutions. Finally, in addition to being a wizard in the realm of research, you are passionate about design and can wield your own design skills when called upon to do so. In short, you are the crucial link between design and the end-user's happiness. If you'd like to put your sensational research skills to work building the future of aviation, have we got a job for you.
