The Art Institute of Chicago, founded in 1879, is a world-renowned art museum housing one of the largest permanent collections in the United States. Application administration for Galaxy, our scheduling and ticketing system:
Responsible for all aspects of system maintenance including creation and maintenance of programs, resources, pricing tables, discounts, letters and forms, and ticket design; event management, including building of routine events and removal of unused events; management of users IDs and security; workstation installation, basic end user training.
Manage integration with external ticketing partners.
Maintain database including data cleanup.
Monitor sales and scheduling performance, correcting critical errors when possible, and communicating with departments concerning performance issues that are detected, including providing training materials and support as appropriate.
Extract data from Galaxy, including statistical data, both routine and on request.
Provide general application support to Galaxy users, including updates to the visitor services intranet site, as well as occasional weekend support for critical problems. Maintain system hardware including repairs and train users on hardware maintenance. Support internal departments with event management workflow.
Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Computer Information Technology preferred; demonstrated equivalent considered. One year as Database Manager or Systems Administrator. Project management involving assessing needs via museum departments and creating processes to meet those needs. Working knowledge of MSWord, Excel, MSSQL 2000 or above data management and Html required. Training in applications and database administration and data analysis, report writing, Html and basic programming desired. Ability to update software applications in a networked environment. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Technical knowledge of ticketing/box office systems is a plus. Qualified applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, utilizing good judgment and problem solving to ensure the best outcome for our users
