Nigel Vernon

Nigel Vernon is a rapid deploy infrastructure specialist based in Metz, France with expertise in project management, business development, proposal generation and marketing. His skill-set includes the creation of compelling technical and client-facing material to support all business front-end activities. Formally trained in technical illustration and holding a BA (Hons) in transport design, Nigel’s professional career of more than 25 years has been spent developing and supporting military clients in need of bespoke capability solutions.

Possessing a valuable blend of technical, management and creative competencies, Nigel has a versatile and polished skills base well suited to the demands and challenges imposed by the military sector. With a reputation for high quality, accurate, rapid-turnaround material, Nigel’s project and work portfolio is backed up by a wealth of solid reference contracts for high profile entities, including NSPA, the UN, and numerous European Armed Forces.

His career has progressed rapidly from technical authoring, marketing, concept visualisation, proposal management, solution engineering, business development and project management to his current Technical Officer role which brings all these competencies together. Nigel is therefore used to wearing many hats in his line of work and switching seamlessly between these according to business need.

Nigel brings a wealth of technical know-how, quickly articulating ideas and concepts into client-ready schemes that are understandable at all levels. Nigel has impeccable English language, allowing ease of scripting concise, technical documents, reports and proposals, commercial and contractual communications, and preparation of engaging proposal and marketing text. In addition, Nigel holds good working-level French language skills following 12 years of immersion in-country.

Nigel’s diverse skillset provides an ideal worktool in the context of new business startups or dynamic business change, proven during numerous work engagements and through his previous UK and French consulting businesses. Key career highlights include co-designing the UK MoD Bastion hospital in Afghanistan; writing the successful proposal for a series of 500pax HQ turnkey camps, then implementing the project and managing it’s onward support. Nigel also tendered for, won and effected turnkey delivery of a series of tactical accommodation shelters for a European Armed Forces, a time-critical project. More recently, in his current role as Technical Officer, Nigel has delivered two in-depth infrastructure feasibility studies, the first leading to a 100M+ EUR order for COLPRO enabled camps which he now project manages, and the second for a high-profile infrastructure package worth in excess of 500M EUR.
