Creative Director
Luminary Publishing is best known as the publisher of Chronogram, a monthly arts and culture magazine serving the Mid-Hudson Valley. We also do much of the region's custom publishing work.

Though I hold the title of Creative Director, I actually wear many different hats depending on the project. With any given publication I may also be acting as Art Director, Photography Editor, Designer and Production Manager.

I maintain a stable of around twenty freelance photographers and illustrators, and have worked with hundreds of museums, galleries, artists, publicists and publishers.

Here's a digital version of our main magazine, as well as many of the other publications I've done or overseen for Luminary: http://issuu.com/chronogram

Book Design + Editing
I began my paid design career in book design, and have helped several small publishing companies to launch, from conceiving brands to constructing titles from whole cloth, then supporting their releases. As such I have been engaged in every aspect of the book publishing trade—editing, design, press checks, marketing and distribution.

I have also designed books for large publishers, including Harper Collins, the Smithsonian, Reader's Digest, Orvis, Sterling and Thomas Nelson.
Music Packaging
I began my unpaid career as a designer for bands (including my own)—fliers, posters, t-shirts and album packaging.

Projects include:

Medeski Martin & Wood
Mercury Rev
Swans
Wooden Wand
James Blackshaw
John Popper
