STIG STABELL DESIGN

I do interiors and furniture. From the creative start at the drawing board to final product. Visualizing in 3D give the customer a feel of how the final object look like. Design and making is close, resulting in a product with ballance and depth.

As a Product Designer I use CAD, make prototypes and looking for the total picture - to make our customers look at their product with new eyes. Exploring new territory, then summarize and draw knowledge of new and unexpected findings.

Our machinery include CNC and laser as well as welding equipment and sheet metal bending machines.

We work with both offshore and onshore industry, from big projects on oil rigs to domestic products.
Most of our projects are custom made, but we do have products developed in our workshop ready-made.

OSC is the worlds most advanced provider of simulators for Anchor Handling and Platform Supply Vessel operations.

We are able to achieve this due to high level operational know-how from the maritime cluster here in Norway mixed with advanced computer technology, sophisticated mathematical models and state of the art 3D graphics display systems. This includes complete offshore vessel bridges with all relevant controls and systems. Using intelligent software and interfaces we are able to produce solutions where we can change the vessel’s environment including altering the weather, winds, waves and time of day at the touch of a button.

Working with domestic one-off furniture and interior. Taking the project from idea to finished product. Going through a design prosess involving the customer to meet needs and desire - making and installing to make ensure the customer's satisfaction.

Furniture design and making, high end one-off for private customers. I worked here in the summers and evenings during taking my design degree i England.

Producing furniture, interiors, doors and windows using all sorts of work shop machinery and hand tools. Products at a very high finish were made - timber logs cut into slat wood and then glued together to get stable and nice furniture. Spray painting, oiling and other proffessional surface treatment. Both solid wood, veneer, plywood, MDF, were used such as Oak, Birch, Teak, Mahogny, Pine, Fur, Beech, Ash, Cherry etc.

2 years of training in a wood workshop, ending with a Diploma as Cabinet Maker.
