News Reporting

Live studio reporting, rocking a mullet a few years ago! (As you can see, lifting the left eyebrow is key to a "credible" look.)

A compilation of a few of the TV stories I shot, wrote and edited in the late 90s.

Sky diving with dare devils with my camera strapped on my head!

Double tornado story I shot, edited and wrote.

Flood relief tour with Al Gore. I was the pool reporter/videographer for ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS and gave him regional data to help localize his speeches along the way.

One of many news feeds I wrote and sent to the Associated Press along our tour

A fun break from the tough stuff: a story about training drug-sniffing dogs.

Another great story I was lucky to shoot/write: one of horse racing's top jockeys makes a miraculous comeback!

A happy end-of-show feel-good piece: kids learn the value of volunteering to help others, while trying hard to resist their love for peanut butter!

One of Kentucky's great places to visit!
Early morning live weather reports from the "treacherous" streets of Louisville
Live on the murder scene. Little girl witnesses her mom being killed. Why this job was often just too sad.
TV news script: dog shot
TV news script - Kentucky soldier family
One of my favorite "everyday people" stories
One for fun: my very first TV broadcast at age 19. So nervous, my chubby cheeks were quivering.
People Promotions - A Few of My Favorites

Editing and promotion of my uncle's wonderful book!

The new and improved Ali museum homepage! I helped create programs that are now a large part of their social media outreach. (Daughter's of Greatness, etc.)

I helped hone the wording of Ali's six core principles. Now that's a dream assignment!

It was quite the honor to launch the first homepage and infrastructure of content. New versions by talented web designers and writers soon followed.

I quickly jumped at the opportunity to edit and organize Ali's archives on the Journal site.

Best volunteer gig ever back in the 90s: writing/designing brochures and working as Jimmy Carter's "press agent" and project manager on his mission through the south.

FEMA flood tour with Al Gore - I managed press feeds and helped him with research and localizing his speeches. The best part was zooming around in helicopters getting videos of flood zones!

Men's cover: drew out the concept and wrote the copy

Helped concept and launch the first women's catalog/Website

Launched the first travel catalog! While this was a fun concept and the copy was so fun to write in "J. Peterman" style, sales did not take off. High prices, wrong audience, saturated market? It couldn't have been the creative. :-)
