EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Reginald L. Thomas, AIA has garnered over twenty years’ experience working with a diverse group of distinguished architectural/design firms in New York City. After graduating from Tuskegee University in 1986 with a both a Bachelor’s and a Masters Degree in Architecture, Mr. Thomas went to work in the office of Bond Ryder James Architects, where he was an instrumental part of a team that completed such notable projects as the Paul Newman Residence, the renovation of The Schomburg Cultural Center, and The Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta Georgia. Later, while working with some of the most prestigious architectural firms in the City, he pursued intense study at the Institute of Classical Architecture.

In 1998, he created his own design studio REGINALD L. THOMAS ARCHITECT, LLC— specializing in historically-based, high-end, residential projects. Recently, he has added commercial and institutional work to the firm’s diverse clientele. His work has been featured in several prestigious publications, notably The New York Times. Mr. Thomas has been a guest critic of Design Studios at both NYU and Rutgers University. He was the Vice Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee of Plainfield where he served as the expert in traditional architecture and historic preservation.

Mr. Thomas is licensed to practice architecture in both New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Each project is approached in a comprehensive, professional manner through successful collaboration with Contractors, Landscape Architects, Interior Designers, Artisans and Craftsmen. The result is a strong Portfolio of completed Projects and a well-honed list of satisfied clients.
