The Drafter/Detailer is responsible for detailing and specifying project components according to project concepts. They produce shop drawings, CAM files and introduce solutions and technologies to enhance the client's experience.
Demonstrate highly creative thinking and problem solving skills to detail project components that are consistent with the proposed theme, fit the project's budget and can be delivered within the required timeframe
Utilize 2-D and 3-D modeling software (solidworks, microstation) to prepare preliminary and final production drawings and renderings of proposed pieces including: detailed construction, layout, material specifications, finishes, and lighting while adhering to drawing standards
Understand custom SCSWORX fabrication techniques and rental exhibit systems.
Submit design plans to Project Manager and Production for approval, and adapt as needed.
Create work orders necessary for Production Department to complete design requirements.
Generate staging diagrams to assist with project staging
Generate pull lists to select components needed for project fulfillment
Submit graphic requirements to graphic specialists, as required by the project
Prepare installation packets; work with Installation Delivery personnel on installation issues
Communicate with co-workers, managers, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
Relay pertinent information to employees throughout the organization concerning the client's project
Collaborate with Conceptual Designer, Project Manager, Production Team, Purchasing and occasionally clients, to prepare projects for Production
As part of a cross-functional team, work with other Departments to ensure the correct fabrication and assembly of the design
Coordinate with Project Manager on changes to existing or future work
For large-scale technical components, coordinate project needs with outside vendors
Stay Abreast of New Design Technology
Stay current with new technology and future trends applicable to the exhibit world
Research and gather trends in design, lighting, interiors, and materials
Continually seek for innovative ways to push project solutions to the next level
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other duties as needed
Bachelor's Degree in Interior, Industrial Drafting, Graphic Design or related field preferred. (4 years additional experience can be substituted for the education requirement)
2 years related work experience preferred
Modeling Adobe CS Suite software
MicroStation experience a plus
Branding and graphics experience a plus
Exhibit/Tradeshow experience a plus
Principles and practices of Computer-Aided Design and 2-D and 3-D rendering
Knowledge of artistic and technical concepts related to exhibit booth design a plus
Knowledge of trade shows, exhibit design, environments, have lean or 65 knowledge and graphics a plus
Construction / Able to read architectural drawings

Supervision received by Production Manager
Regular SCSWORX hours are 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday, however weekend/holiday work may be expected to meet client deadlines and/or support events. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
